Erik Julius Tjahja

Erik Julius Tjahja graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Music from the University of Melbourne,Australia with a major in Instrumental Teaching. He is also the holder of the Associated Diploma in Piano Recital from the Australian Music Examination Board.

A versatile and competent pianist, Erik is capable of captivating the attention of his audience with technically demanding pieces as well as touching their heartstrings with the more intimate ones.

As the piano accompanist for the ASEAN Violin Competition 2009, Erik has indeed taken his first step in leaving his footprint on the international arena of performing arts.

As a teacher, Erik has taught students of different ages, abilities and diverse ethnic backgrounds. The experience of helping autistic children in Australia to improve brain function through music education further honed his communication skill as a teacher. Those formative years elevated his teaching skills to new heights.

Erik is an extremely patient teacher whose genuine love for sharing his knowledge in music is evident in each of his lesson. Students often find his enthusiasm in playing the piano and performing infectious, regardless of age and level.
